Our client is a growing derivatives trading firm. They are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance for a senior, hands-on role, working closely with senior management, traders and operations to keep the firm's activities within applicable regulatory requirements, exchange rules and internal policies.
The successful candidate will lead the compliance framework and monitoring programme, and provide day-to-day guidance to traders, management and operations. Key responsibilities include surveillance of trading activity and communications for breaches, unusual trading patterns and market abuse risks; maintaining monitoring plans, policies, procedures and controls; and acting as a key point of contact with ICE, CME, LME and other international exchanges and market authorities. You will interpret exchange rules, position limits, reporting obligations and market conduct requirements, investigate potential breaches, coordinate remediation and escalation, and maintain compliance records and reporting.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Finance, Law, Business, Compliance or a related discipline, with compliance experience gained within a derivatives trading house, commodity trading firm, broker, bank or financial institution. Practical experience dealing with ICE, CME, LME or similar futures and commodities exchanges, strong monitoring, surveillance and risk controls experience, and a working understanding of how trading desks operate are essential. Familiarity with market conduct, market abuse, position limits, trade reporting and exchange rules is expected.
