Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Singapore, in a newly created role. The role supports the business across capital markets, OTC derivatives and physical commodities trading.
The successful candidate will assist the legal department in managing legal and regulatory risks across capital markets, OTC derivatives and physical commodities trading. You will draft, review and negotiate core trading documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), Global Master Repurchase Agreements (GMRAs) and GMSLAs, commodities trading and broking agreements, and client clearing and prime brokerage agreements. You will also advise trading desks directly on day-to-day operations, dispute resolution, default management, cross-border jurisdictional requirements and new product and business implementations, including digital assets where applicable, and oversee external counsel and associated legal spend.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5–10 years of experience in commodities or capital markets counsel roles, with a strong understanding of financial markets, OTC derivatives, securities or physical commodities. Lawyers in private practice with prior bank secondment experience handling Treasury and ISDA matters will be considered favourably.
